The company said it has found the possibility of a transmission defect in the 2013-2019 Escape, 2013-2018 C-Max, 2013-2016 Fusion, 2013-2021 Transit Connect and 2015-2018 Edge models. The problem can interfere with shifting into the right gear.

This is the fifth Ford vehicle recall related to transmission problems since 2018. It was also reported yesterday that Ford is halting the sale of Mustang Mach-E electric crossovers due to a safety system defect.
