Tesla's new plants "lose billions of dollars"
Elon Musk said the company's new factories in Texas and Berlin are losing billions due to battery shortages and supply chain problems caused by queues at Chinese ports. Disrupted supply lines are squeezing production rates.
Musk said the Tesla plant in Texas is producing a "tiny" number of cars because of problems with increasing production of its own batteries. He also noted that the Shanghai shutdown because of COVID "was very, very difficult."
