Last week, investor, billionaire and cryptocurrency advocate Chamath Palihapitiya, in an All-In podcast said that cryptocurrency is dead in the US as an industry

"Gensler (SEC chairman) even said as if it was cryptocurrency that caused the banking crisis. The federal government has turned its back on the sector. Cryptocurrency is effectively dead in the US as an industry," said the billionaire.
