The “Fight Hunger, Stock the Trailer” initiative, a competitive event fostering friendly county rivalries, culminated in the collection of a staggering 448,827 pounds of food. Ross County: Leading the Charge
Leading the charge was Ross County, which emerged victorious with an astounding contribution of 122,640 pounds. This effort was marshaled by the Brookside Church and Good Samaritan Food Pantry, echoing the collective spirit and dedication of the community. CJ Jones, a pivotal member of the Ross County Junior Fair Board, reflects on the journey: “Our goal was ambitious, but the teamwork and faith of everyone involved made it possible.”
Statewide Collaboration
The program’s success was not confined to Ross County alone. Counties like Clermont, Lorain, Stark, and Ashland also demonstrated their mettle, contributing significant amounts of food and raising necessary funds. According to Scioto Post, the event saw a 57% increase over the previous year’s collections, encapsulating the drive and dedication of youth leaders across Ohio.

Further bolstering these efforts, Farm Credit Mid-America donated $63,000 to support Ohio 4-H county fairs, providing financial aid to nurture future leaders. This investment in the community ensures sustained support for youth programs and encourages a continued commitment to societal welfare.
