Sri Lanka wants to import Russian oil despite the declared default - Daily Mirror

Sri Lankan President Rajapaksa asked Putin to cooperate in oil purchases. There is a possibility that the heads of state will meet in Moscow for talks.

Sri Lanka's interest in cooperation with Russia can be explained by its inability to buy fuel through regular deliveries. The reason is a debt of $731 million and the country has defaulted on its foreign obligations.
