Earlier, the UK regulator CMA blocked the takeover of the games maker due to monopoly threats. Facts are emerging in the media that are shattering the belief that the decision will be reviewed.

The Verge reports that Nicole Kar of law firm Linklaters wrote back in 2020 that the CMA wins 67% of all appeals filed against it. Microsoft was just planning to challenge the regulator's block, but the chances are slim.

In addition, after leaving the EU, the British authorities are trying in every way possible to "stand out" and go against the European regulators. Although in this case both the EU and the US are sceptical about the deal. At the end of 2022, the FTC has already asked to block the deal because of the threat to competition in the gaming market.

The main reason for discontent: Microsoft may limit distribution of Activision's games either by raising prices or by including the projects in its subscriptions.
