Vatican head, Pope Francis makes statement in support of Ukraine
The head of the Vatican, Pope Francis made a statement in support of Ukraine in his public speech Sunday, the anniversary of his election to the throne:
"This week the city that bears the name of the Virgin Mary - Mariupol - has become the martyr city of the fierce war that is ravaging Ukraine. There is no reason to justify this barbaric killing of children, innocent and unarmed civilians," said Francis
