SEC accidentally leaks identities of hundreds of crypto-miners
The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) accidentally leaked the names and emails of 650 crypto-miners, the Washington Examiner reports.
The incident involved Green Blockchain - the regulator was checking on the company's operations and had contacted 650 miners to do so. The Commission asked them for feedback on Green Blockchain's performance and promised to send the results afterwards.
But the SEC got the settings wrong when it sent out the report. So all the recipients of the emails (the miners themselves, who participated in the survey) learned information about each other.
